SALES TIPS : Dealing with Unfriendly Customers

Against the people who gave us the order and treat us friendly, we all can be kind, friendly and enthusiastic. But what if we have to deal with grumpy or with unfriendly people?


If you can not resolve it, then your value as a seller will be priced lower by companies that hire you. Because your value was determined from the skills of how you are dealing with people, in a professional and effective ways, including with unfriendly customers.


Here are the tips on how to deal with unfriendly or grumpy customers :

  1. When customers are being angry with mounting emotion - force yourself to be relaxed. Just listen to these people and do not interrupt.
  2. When anger is being released, your next strategy is to lower your voice and speak every word clearly and slowly.
  3. Physically get out from that situation, because it began to develop to personal matter.
  4. Begin your response by saying thank you. If possible, offer yourself sincerely to solve the existing problems, by finding the best solution.
  5. After the anger and the resolution occurs; usually the customer shall realize their mistakes and be embarrassed. This is an opportunity for you to improve your business with him.
If you are seriously engaged in sales for a long time, realize that you will often find some misunderstanding and complaints from customers. Look at this as an opportunity for you to grow and become more successful in your career.
